What We Believe

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Acts 16:31

Core Beliefs / Tenets of Faith

The following are the core beliefs of Calvary Way Full Gospel Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

Calvary Way  accepts the Holy Scriptures as the revealed will of God, the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice, for the purpose of maintaining general unity.

SCRIPTURES INSPIRED Believing that the Scriptures, both the Old and the New Testaments, especially the King James version, are verbally inspired of God and are the Revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct. (II Timothy 3:15-17, I Thess. 2:13, II Peter 1:21)

THAT THE ONE TRUE GOD has revealed Himself as the Great Eternal "I AM," as Creator of Heaven and Earth and the Redeemer of mankind. He has shown Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. (Duet. 6:4, Isa. 43:10-11, Matt. 28:19)

THE DEITY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST as declared in the Scriptures: (a) His virgin birth, (b) His sinless life, (c) His miracles, (d) His substitutionary work on the cross, (e) His bodily resurrection from the dead, (f) His exaltation to the right hand of God. (Isa 7:14, Matt. 1:23. Matt. 19:26, John 11:25-26, I Thess. 4:14, Heb. 12:2)

THE FALL OF MAN by voluntary transgression, incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God.
    (Gen. 1:26-27, 2:17, 3:6, Rom. 12:19)

THE SALVATION OF MAN is only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, and the (a) conditions to Salvation is through repentance towards God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ, as evidenced by (b) a life of righteousness and true holiness in Him. (Luke 24:47, John 3:3, Titus 2:12)

THE ORDINANCES OF THE CHURCH are (a) baptism in water, by immersion as commanded in the Scriptures, for the believer declares to the world that he has died with Christ and also has been raised into the newness of life; (b) Holy Communion, consisting of the elements, bread and the fruit of the vine, is symbolically sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a memorial of His suffering and death and a prophecy of His second coming. (Matt. 28:19, Acts 10:47-48, Rom. 6:4)

THE BAPTISM WITH THE HOLY GHOST is the promise from the Father with the indument of power for life and service. (Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4) The evidence of the baptism with the Holy Ghost is the physical act of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance. (Acts 2:4)

SANCTIFICATION is an act of separation from that which is evil and of dedication unto God. The Scriptures teach a life of "holiness without which no man shall see the Lord." It is realized by the believer when he identifies with Christ in His death and resurrection and, by faith, daily reckoning upon the fact of that union and by offering continually to the communion of the Holy Spirit.
(Rom. 6:1-11, Gal. 2:20)

THE CHURCH AND ITS MISSION is to seek and to save, through faith in God, that which is lost; to build a body of believers in the image of His Son; to be an agency of God for evangelizing the world; to be a channel of God's purpose to build up the body in the faith to the perfecting of the Saints. (Eph 4)

DIVINE HEALING is an integral part of the Gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers.
    (Isa. 53: 4-5, Matt. 8: 16-17, James 5:14-16)

THE BLESSED HOPE is the Rapture of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord. (I Thess. 4:16-18, Titus 2:13)

THE MILLENNIAL REIGN OF CHRIST The Great Tribulation period ends with Satan being bound and cast into the bottomless pit, and Christ and His raptured saints visibly return to earth to reign and rule one thousand years.
                          (Zech. 14:5, Matt.24:27,30, Rev. 1:7, 19:11-14. 20:1-6)

THE FINAL JUDGMENT is when the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works. Then they whose names are not found written in the Book of Life, together with the devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, will be consigned to the lake of fire, which is the second death. (Rev. 21:8)
